2 Borns...
I had the pleasure of experiencing role reversal and being a stay at home dad yesterday. Whilst Debs went out to work in for the first time in a couple of yrs I got to look after my first and second born sons (no thirds planned, but that is a different tale).
I confess i got off lightly, having got the boys dressed, Nathan to school on time with all the right bags, Dan got taken to todler grp by a dear friend, letting me work at home. Apart from one incredible pooing incident after Dan's nap, where he filled his nappy and half his cot it was pretty uneventful. Being the slacker father that I am, i found some pizza in the freezer for tea, thus ensuring we all got our key food groups in of bread, processed cheese, tomato paste and of course vegatables of mushroom and sweetcorn.
Still i am glad that Debs is getting to ease her way slowly back to work - it was great seeing the boys throwing themselves at her when she came through the front door (i would have done too but it seemed a shame having kept them alive til then to ruin all my good work with a crushing incident in the hall ;). I also realise again what an awesome job Deb does at home and how in the crazy world in which we live - her special gifting of connecting/supporting/enabling adults with learning difficulties to live dignified lives should get paid a lot more £'s than my world of policy and audit!
Fittingly, I came across this prayer for workers everywhere...
A WORKER'S PRAYER
My work is hard, Lord. I need your counsel and comfort:
When things fall apart,
When I'm confronted with evil,
When my co-workers' needs are too great,
When I'm tired to the insides of my brain,
When my work is not appreciated.
My work is necessary, Lord. I need your gifts and Spirit:
When things are developing well,
When I'm making positive changes,
When others' lives have meaning because of the work I do,
When I'm working efficiently and effectively,
When I'm honored as a valuable worker.
Every day of my work:
I want to remember that you are my God;
I need to know that you're with me;
I count on your blessings for my successes;
I want to thank you for the chance to work in this place;
I need courage and conviction to see myself as your worker.
For the gifts and your grace that come to me as a worker, I praise... and thank you. Amen.

3 Bournes...
I am also very tempted by the programme that London's BFI IMAX Bourne trilogy all nighter on this saturday - i loved all 3 films (altho i confess the shaky camera work could be annoying at times). What did you think of the trilogy??

and the bonza booze...
Finally, i signed up for this great bonza Oz wine offer from Laithwaites (sadly only available in the UK) 15 bottles of great wine for £45.99 or £2.67 a bottle!!! It's such a good deal i wanted to pass on this good news [altho may not so cool if you're the type of charismissional who already is turning water into wine???]
We basically get most of our wine from Laithwaites because it's reasonable priced (if you're spending £5-6 a bottle) and always really good quality [and now you know my guilty secret of how we cope with 2 kids!].
I loved the Bourne Series...I have also wondered why most men do like the series so much...I think it must have something to do with the fact he is always in control of his situation and capable of getting away or accomplishing his goal. this is desirable in a world of chaos, unpredictability and change. I guess we long for that...But is sure is a great movie...
